How to check your fibre cable order before it leaves Guangzhou

Match your purchase order to jacket markings, drum labels, measured lengths and test records during a remote pre-shipment review with a Guangzhou cable factory.

Rows of wrapped cable reels on pallets inside the workshop

Start with one drum from the packing list

Ask the factory to show the packing list revision and read back a drum ID you select. Follow that ID through a continuous view of the drum label, visible cable end and jacket legend. A photograph of a warehouse can show storage conditions. A drum ID gives the buyer a way to connect the evidence to an actual order line.

Read the jacket against the approved artwork

Compare the fibre count, customer wording, metre-mark format and order reference with the approved artwork. Agree which marks must be visible before the drum is closed. Write down both end marks where accessible and the direction of numbering. A short photograph of one metre mark cannot establish the length of the whole drum.

Reconcile the test record and the packing list

For each agreed test, request the drum ID, fibre IDs, test method, wavelength, date and acceptance limits specified in the order. A shared batch report needs a documented mapping to the drums it covers. An export packing photo cannot answer a question about optical performance. Record transport dimensions and gross weight separately.

What if the evidence disagrees?

Suppose the packing list says D07 while the record says D70. Hold that line for clarification, retain both original references and request the corrected record with its revision. Release other lines only according to the agreed inspection plan. Ask for the final drum-to-document list so the receiving team can repeat the check after unloading.
